Everything is great, at first, when Mitch McDeere (Cruise) is hired by the firm. The firm, pays back all of his student loans all at once, and he loves it, even when they furnished his new house, in his beautiful new neighborhood.

The lives of Mitch and his wife Abby (Jeanne Triplehorn) are really good..but then strange things start happening, people getting killed by boat bombs and whatnot…..
